The wearing of WIGs dates from the earliest recorded times, the ancient Egyptians shaved their heads and wore wigs to protect themselves from the sun.
According to Encyclopædia Britannica, "A WIG is a manufactured head covering of real or artificial hair worn in the theatre, as personal adornment, disguise, or symbol of office, or for religious reasons."
Well...it seems very obvious that a wig is made with purpose...and apparently by the above definition with descent purpose, it's indeed for religious reasons! With relation to the recent incidence that someone who found a wig in a laptop bag..hmm...it's very interesting to question what has someone got to do with a WIG for
personal adornment?!
symbol of office?!
or even....religious purposes?!
and together with a laptop?.....wow that somebody must have shifted the the above 3 purposes of WIG to the next level!!!....i could not imagine a british barrister with a white wig could handle teleconference court procedure! and i never know that someone would perform a religious duty wearing a wig and let alone with a laptop?
Of course it's not a strange thing to wear WIG for personal adornment! Look at Kak Wan Blonde...she wears it like one should wear an underwear everyday!..that does not matter much!
But what matter most is the intention for personal adornment! In whatever religion, i guess, it's always the intention that is more significant than the acts.
